Welcome, and thank you for joining me on "A Seeker's Journey."
I'm a (mostly) retired university psychology professor, living in a bucolic setting in western Massachusetts. I’ve written professionally for my entire career, but am now thrilled to be able to write more freely, unfettered by the conventions of academic writing. In these pages, I will be discussing topics that are personally meaningful to me ... and, I hope, to you. I’ll be writing from the heart and will likely be more opinionated and outspoken than conventional academic venues permit.
Some topics I’ll be discussing, including family, bereavement, aging, identity, retirement, friendships, and the broken health care system in the United States, will be informed by my recent experience as primary caregiver for my wife, who passed away in 2023. Others will address the power of music, poetry, art, and close relationships in advancing us along our respective journeys. I’m sure that other topics will come up along the way — the discussion will be shaped both by events of the day and by your feedback.
My posts will always be free. From time to time, depending on the topic of the post, I may suggest charitable organizations that could benefit from our help. But those would only be suggestions.
I hope you find my writing of interest, and I encourage you to subscribe in order to be notified about my latest posts. Please share this site with your friends as well.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts, perspectives, and experiences in the Comments section. We all have much to learn from one another. Thanks for joining me on this journey!
